Sep 13, 2008 With 27 pro men, 15 pro women and 16 pro women's figure competitors vying for nearly $10,000 in prize money, the 2008 WNBF Pro Natural International was a huge success. A packed crowd at the Johnson County Community College watch the action as Leroy Perry won the Mr. International heavyweight and overall crowns, earning $1200. Brenda Rahe successfully defended her title for a second time, ruling the Women's category to earn $1200. And Arlene Lurey earned the Ms. International Figure Championship in a huge class of first-class figure competitors.
Rookie Brad Steere won the competitive lightweight class in his first pro outing, while 2006 heavyweight champion Robert Johnson Jr. returned to win the middleweight class here. The two class winners faced off against heavyweight Leroy Perry in the overall posedown.
Among the ladies, Katy Holmes grabbed the heavyweight women's bodybuilding class crown, continuing a dominant year that began with her overall win at the WNBF Mid-America in August. The Figure group was judged in one large group, and the runner-up by the slimmest of margins was Allison Frahn.
More than $9500 in total prize money was awarded to the top men's and women's bodybuilders and women's figure competitors. This event was promoted by WNBF pro Jan Rowlett and her husband, Fred Rowlett, the NANBF President.
